ABOUT ME

NEW LEADERSHIP DELIVERING RESULTS FOR LEE COUNTY

I began my law enforcement career in 2002 with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.  I have served as a Patrol Deputy, Domestic Violence Investigator, Criminal Investigator, Narcotic Agent, Task Force Officer and Homeland Security Officer and am  currently serving as the Captain of Professional Standards.

I grew up in Sanford, NC and attended Lee Senior High School.

Attained my Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Central Carolina Community College; then attained my Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Mount Olive College.

I have completed countless hours of training that have afforded me the Intermediate Law Enforcement Certificate from the North Carolina Sheriff’s Education and Training Standard’s Commission along with an Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate from the North Carolina Sheriff’s Education and Training Standard’s Commission.

During my law enforcement career, through hard work, I was fortunate to be the only Lee County Sheriff’s Office employee to gradate from the FBI National Academy.  The FBI National Academy is a professional course of study for U.S. and international law enforcement managers.  The 10-week program provides coursework in intelligence theory, terrorism and terrorist mindsets, management science, law, behavioral science, law enforcement communication, and forensic science.  The program serves to improve the administration of justice in departments and agencies at home and abroad and to raise law enforcement standards, knowledge, and cooperation worldwide.

I am a family man and believe that a supportive family is essential in the success of any career, especially law enforcement.   Along with my wife Ashley and son Corbin, we call Lee county our home.

I became a General Instructor after attending the North Carolina Justice Academy.  I then began teaching in the Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) program at Central Carolina Community College and became a Qualified Assistant to the School Director for the night classes program.

I became a Specialized Physical Fitness Instructor and started a Physical Fitness program within the Lee County Sheriff’s Office along with teaching Physical Fitness training to Basic Law Enforcement Training Cadets and Detention Officers.

I am also a Taser instructor through Axon Enterprise.
